How does the course work?

Every lesson is carefully planned

Each lesson is divided into three parts.

Warm-up

A short dry-land warm-up with movement games, followed by a mandatory shower – an important part of swimming culture and hygiene.

Learning in the water

The main part of the lesson takes place in small groups. Through tasks, games and progressively more challenging exercises, children acquire new swimming skills.

Cool-down

Calming down, relaxation, a short review of the work done, and praise for effort and progress.

Beginners develop

  • familiarity with the water,
  • correct breathing,
  • gliding and floating,
  • balance and orientation in the water,
  • the basics of safe movement.

Advanced swimmers develop

  • correct swimming technique,
  • coordination and endurance,
  • efficient swimming,
  • dives and turns,
  • the basics of underwater diving.
Getting used to the water

The foundation of successful swimming lessons

Nobody is pushed beyond their limits – progress is built on trust, encouragement and gradually overcoming fear.

Play and imagination

Children gradually get their face wet, blow bubbles, and observe and pick up objects below the surface.

Feel for the water

Gliding, floating and diving with engaging equipment develop a feel for the water.

Trust and joy

The goal is for every child to enjoy the water and feel safe in it.

Learning the strokes

From the "froggy" to the butterfly

The stroke is chosen according to the child's abilities – every new stroke builds on skills already mastered.

"Froggy"

An adapted starter technique – the bridge between basic skills and proper breaststroke.

Breaststroke

Good orientation in the water, coordinated arm and leg work, and rhythmic breathing.

Front crawl

The fastest stroke – alternating arm and leg movements with the head turning to breathe.

Backstroke

Balance on the surface, correct body position and posture.

Butterfly

The most demanding stroke – a wave-like body motion coordinated with breathing.

Jumps and diving

Children gradually learn safe feet-first and head-first entries, a correct push-off from the pool edge, underwater orientation, and picking up objects from the bottom. Under professional supervision, advanced swimmers learn the basics of diving to a depth of about 4 metres.

Water education and safety

We teach children safe behaviour in and around water, pool rules, personal hygiene, mutual respect and responsibility. Safety always comes first in our work.

Skill levels and diplomas

From seahorse to shark

Progress is assessed according to the official criteria of the Slovenian national programme Naučimo se plavati (Let's Learn to Swim). For every level passed, the child receives a diploma.

3
Gold seahorse25 metres of swimming in any style.
4
